An-Nifâq (Hypocrisy and It's Various Manifestations)
Hypocrisy is of types, namely:
(A) Hypocrisy in Belief:
There are six aspects of Hypocrisy in Belief:
To belie the Messenger (Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam).
To belie some of all that was brought by the Messenger (Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam). (e.g. the Qur'ân Al Kareem, the Sunnah, laws and principles of Islâm).
To hate the Messenger (Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam).
To hate some of all that was brought by the Messenger (Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam). e.g. Islamîc Monotheism, ect.
To feel happy at the disgrace of or setback for the religion of Allâh Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala Messenger (Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam).
To dislike that the religion of Allâh Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala Messenger (Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam) (Islamîc Monotheism) becomes victorious (not being pleased at the victory of Islâm).
A person having these six types (of hypocrisy) will be in the lowest depths (grade) of the Fire (Hell). Allâh Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala said in the Qur'ân Al Kareem:
Sûrah An-Nisâ (The Women) IV, Ayât 145
Verily, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depth (grade) of the Fire; no helper will you find for them. (TMQ* 4: 145)
(B) Hypocrisy in deeds and actions.
These are five aspects of hypocrisy in deeds and actions, and their proof is from the statement of Allâh's Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala Messenger (Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam): The signs of a hypocrite are these:
Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie.
Whenever he promises, he always breaks it (his promise).
If you trust him, he proves to be dishonest (if you keep something as trust with him, he will not return it).
And in another narration of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam: Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil, insulting manner.
Whenever he makes a covenant, he proves himself treacherous.
Narrated 'Abdullâh bin 'Amr Radi-Allahu 'anhu:
The Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam said, "Whoever has (the following) four characters will be a hypocrite, and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy until he gives it up. These are:
Whenever he talks, he tells a lie;
Whenever he makes a promise, he breaks it;
Whenever he makes a covenant he proves treacherous;
Whenever he quarrels, he behaves impudently in an evil insulting manner."

Narrated 'Abdullâh bin 'Amr Radi-Allahu 'anhu:
The Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam said, "Whoever has the following four (characteristics) will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy unless and until he gives it up.
Whenever he is entrusted, he betrays.
Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie.
Whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous.
Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil and insulting manner."
